ABSTRACT:
In this session, Hydrix will share how its integrated business model, spanning engineering services, medical product distribution, and strategic investment in medtech start-ups supports its mission to improve and save lives through innovation in biomedical engineering.
We’ll explore Hydrix’s involvement in the development of control systems for total artificial hearts and LVADs, with a focus on the company’s development of its LUDO platform and developing strategic work for Artificial Heart Frontiers Program. By drawing on real-world case studies, including the strategic insight work that supported go-to-market planning and helped secure a landmark $50 million MRFF grant, we’ll show how Hydrix blends technical excellence with commercial foresight.
Finally, we’ll reflect on the role of academic partnerships in this journey, the opportunity for collaboration with researchers and students, and our vision for the future of Victoria’s medtech innovation ecosystem.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Pauline Newlove is an accomplished project manager with over 15 years of experience in product development, primarily within the medical device industry. She has worked for and with companies from Australia, Europe and the US, delivering innovative products to market globally.
With a key focus on usability and user-centred design, Pauline has extensive experience in guiding product developments from early insights to market launch ensuring that new technologies are seamlessly integrated with the needs of users to provide safe and efficient solutions.
She holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design, and Innovation from the Technical University of Denmark, and is listed as an inventor on multiple patents.
