Abstract:
The Australian Centre for AI in Medical Innovation (ACAMI) at La Trobe University is an initiative established in partnership with the Victorian Government. Powered by Australia’s fastest supercomputing infrastructure, ACAMI brings together cutting‑edge AI capabilities with life sciences expertise to drive translational research from bench to bedside. The centre delivers impact through three core workstreams: research collaboration, clinical research innovation, and workforce development. With strong engagement from industry, hospitals, medical research institutes, universities and global partners, ACAMI is advancing AI‑enabled solutions in molecular biology, clinical decision support, medical imaging, pathology and clinical trials. ACAMI is building Australia’s AI‑ready health workforce through workshops and specialised training programs designed to equip researchers and professionals with practical AI skills.

About the Speaker:
Jane is the Director, Development, at the Australian Centre for AI in Medical Innovation (ACAMI), responsible for strategy, operations and partnerships across government, industry, and the research ecosystem.

Jane is a senior leader with over 25 years’ experience in pharmaceutical R&D and has previously held regional and global leadership roles at Moderna, CSL Seqirus and GSK.

Jane brings deep expertise at the intersection of medicine, technology, and public–private collaboration. Her work spans mRNA platform development, pandemic preparedness, digital health, regulatory strategy, and the integration of AI into medical research and clinical decision‑making.

Jane holds medical, business, and governance qualifications and serves on advisory boards advancing biotechnology and workforce development.
